Sm 4to leather bound hardcover with black leather text label to the spine, raised bands, ornate gilt decoration to the spine and along the board edges. Each board has a textured diamond shaped pattern, while the text-block and endpapers are marbled. 489pp. 21 colored plates engraved by George Cruikshank, and 22 engravings on wood by the same artist executed by Mr. White. Very Good book. The cover is lightly edge and shelfworn, but remains very nice. Small bookbinder label to the upper left corner of the front pastedown. There are two owner's names. One is penciled to the rear of the front endpage, and the other to the title page dating to 1844 and 1843. A few pages toned or with light flecking. A beautiful copy!
