During a walk through an old Denver cemetery one day, photographer Wendy Shattil discovered a den of newborn red foxes and their parents. With her camera and skilled eye she followed the story of the foxes as the kits grew up amidst the dangers of the city. This work brings those photos together with the writing of natural history writer Susan Tweit to share with children the life of these wild creatures surviving an urban environment. 40 color photos.
