This book presents one of the finest private collections of Italian manuscripts ever assembled after the First World War. Comparable only to the legendary Cini Collection in Venice, it was formed by Robert Lehman to complement his fathers holdings of early Italian panel paintings. Included are works by the major schools of illumination in southern Italy, Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia, Lombardy, and the Veneto.
