The hand-colored illustrations and text of the Krenterbuch , presented in a facsimile of the original German, planted the course of botany as pioneered by Bavarian physician Fuchs (1501-66). Explanatory notes include information on period botanical terms and classifications, and medicinal plants in modern herbal medicine. Indexed by Latin and English plant name appearing in order of the woodcuts, and alphabetically by Latin name with corresponding plate number. The original is in the Municipal Library of Ulm.
