This volume and the 2006 convention that gave rise to it are for people who speak many languages and who would not have been dismayed by the presidential address, which switches languages with each paragraph, from Latin, to English, to French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The papers also are in this variety of languages (though not combined as in the presidential address). Although most of the papers are not in English, the sections headings are. They include "Digitizing Projects in the Field of Neo-Latin Philology in Hungary," "Humanism and Confessionalization," poetry, "Neo-Latin Literature in Hungary," "J. Lipsius as Philologist and Ancient Historian," narration, rhetoric, "Latin vs. Vernacular," and "The Role of the Neo-Latin Language: East-Central European Perspective," among other topics.
