Following a foreword by E. John Bullard and an essay titled "Solitude and Silence: The Paintings of Robert Kipniss" by Richard J. Boyle, 102 plates offer a 50-year retrospective on the works of this American master. They include prints loaned by long-time collector and patron James F. White, as well as recent paintings from the artist's collection (most of which had never been exhibited before), all of which were part of two exhibitions at the New Orleans Museum of Art in 2006. Appended is a long list of selected publications, collections and exhibitions which have featured Kipniss's work. This volume is a companion publication to Robert Kipniss: Intaglios 1982-2004 (Hudson Hills Press, 2004). Oversize: 9.25x12.25". Annotation ©2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
