Florence benefits by a vast number of historic works, but it is also true that historians have mainly focused their attention on single artists or monuments with monographic works. Today there is the feeling and the conscience of an overall Cultural Good, as the piazza or, more in general, as the urban space. The piazza is, indeed, a complex reality, physically defined by the buildings surrounding it and by its paving design. But, at the same time, it contains the settling of works of art, sculptures, fountains, equestrian monuments, obelisks.
