A pastor who has taught Greek courses in Africa and the US, Hewett prepared this textbook for publication in 1986. It is designed primarily for classroom study, but he includes tools for people who sincerely wished to learn to read a Greek New Testament intelligently but do not have access to a class. Robbins (Hellenistic Greek, Claremont Graduate U.) and Johnson (biblical Greek, Lycoming College) have substantially rewritten it in light of more recent discussions in Greek grammar, and have also corrected errors and improved the formatting, and added two entirely new chapters to integrate English more thoroughly as the learning platform for acquiring Greek. Presumably the disk is new as well; it includes a key to exercises, charts, an alphabet tutor, and other material. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
