Some of the greatest longings of the soul are to be wanted, desired, and chosen. We all long to be somebody’s “somebody.” However, can the fulfillment of this desire for identity and belonging ever be fully realized in the context of romance or relationships? I had always heard that God was supposed to be the one responsible for completely meeting these desires, but, honestly, I had a difficult time knowing how to practically get to that place with Him. In fact, I often wondered if it was even possible to achieve this kind of rest for the soul outside the realm of romance. Overcoming Bride chronicles my story of a beautiful journey toward marriage that suffered an abrupt detour. As a result, one of my greatest quests began---the fight to find God, identity, and belonging in the shadows of shocking loss. Are you a man or woman who desires to rekindle your relationship with God? Are you looking for hope through a fresh testimony of God's justice and redemption? Are you needing encouragement and strength in the wilderness? Are you a man or woman who needs some fresh perspective on God's heart regarding relationships between men and women? Are you married but finding yourself disillusioned because you are still lacking the depth of love you had hoped to find on the other side of marriage? Are you single or dating and still trying to find the balance between believing for a Godly spouse and finding all of your fulfillment in Jesus? Have you gone through a broken engagement, divorce, or death of a loved one and need encouragement during grieving? Are you wondering if grief and seasons in the wilderness have an expiration date? __________________________________________ If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, this book is written with you in mind. I pray that my story of how God led me through the wilderness of a broken engagement will help you live as a constantly OVERCOMING and VICTORIOUS Bride!!!
