This text covers both qualitative and quantitative approaches available to the nurse researcher and prepares students to do research and to use knowledge gained from research. Coverage includes basic concepts of research, quantitative and qualitative research designs, ethical issues, statistical concepts, and planning, conducting, and reporting on research. An appendix gives instructions for using SPSS. The text assumes no prior knowledge of statistics or research design. It can be used as a graduate text and with senior undergraduates.
