This compilation contains most, if not all, of the generally recognized as safe (GRAS) herbs, and many medicinally important foods (GRAF or generally recognized as food). It also contains about 500 strictly medicinal plants (GRAP or generally recognized as poisonous or medicinal species). For each species, the species name is followed by an alphabetical listing of reported constitutents. Where available, quantitative data follow the names of the elements or compounds. Such numbers are in ppm. Following the quantitative data, if any, are two-letter abbreviations, standing for plant parts.
