Page edges dyed red. 981pp. Numerous engraved illustrations throughout. Near very good book. Moderate soiling to board edges and to bottom 2.5 inches of front board. Several stains just to page edges. Two-inch dampstain to second front endpage gutter, and to upper half of page. Eraser marks and scraps of burgundy ink to upper quarter of second front endpage. Dampstaining to upper fore-corner of preliminary pages and index, and to lower fore-edge of index. Frontis and titlepage edgeworn. Frontis tissue guard foxed, and intermittent foxing to interior. Small pencil note to last page of index, and pencil scribbles and "VOID" notes to several pages. Book has been updated with additional products tipped in, and early revisions pasted to original pages.
