The eight cases presented in this volume focus on the fictional community of Middleboro and seven healthcare organizations that serve it: two hospitals, a long-term care facility, a home health agency, two physician group practices, and a local health department. It emphasizes the strategy and operations of these organizations, the factors that drive the need for and use of healthcare services, and the strategic administration decisions in terms of management and policy issues.
