This book contains the last four plays of Euripides: Electra, Phoenician Women, Bacchae, and Iphigenia at Aulis translated into English by Luschnig (classics, U. of Idaho) and Woodruff. These final Euripidean tragedies were written between 420 and 406 BCE and due to the fact that they were completed close to Euripides' death in 406, there are many instances of textual incompleteness. The translators draw from a wide array of sources to fill in these gaps. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
