Folio hardcover in previous owner's brown cloth rebinding with rounded corners and gilt lettering on two black leather labels to spine. A near-very good book with light rubbing to boards and spine and scuffing to labels. The endpapers, title page, and page edges are very lightly soiled. Chipping and small tears to edges of title page and endpages. Light silverfishing to reverse of final plate (The Castle, Nottingham.) Pencil sketch of a vase to obverse of rear free endpaper. This book was once owned by Allen W. Jackson, a Bostonian architect and author of "The Half-Timber House" (1912), and as such has his name plate to the spine and his pencil signature on the top edge of the title page.
