This is a revised edition of Selling your Screenplay (1988). Whitcomb has been making a living as a screenwriter for two decades and is not shy about disclosing her earnings (over $5 million at last count). She also taught screenwriting at UCLA Film School for seven years and has seen lots of writers trying to make the transition from the fantasy career in their heads into the real world of the entertainment industry. She aims to ease that transition by showing would-be screenwriters what to expect and how to respond to success as well as rejection. This is not a how-to handbook on writing; rather, it focuses on nuts and bolts such as sending queries, making pitches, negotiating deals, and working with agents and producers.
