This resource for all levels of students and practitioners introduces foundational theories of nursing practice, with chapters written by the original theorists, scholars, and nurses experienced in the use of theory in practice. Following an introduction to nursing theory, one section is devoted to the work of early nursing scholars. The rest of the book's readings are grouped by theories in the interactive-integrative paradigm, the unitary- transformative paradigm, caring theories, and middle-range theories. Each reading begins with background on the author and a b&w author photo, then offers a detailed overview of that theorist's model, applications, a practice example, and a summary. This third edition covers seven additional theories and offers new content on implementing theory-based practice, with a list of references and online resources for each theory.
