The Velveteen Rabbit - Given as a Christmas gift to a young boy, the Velveteen Rabbit lives in the nursery with all of the other toys, waiting for the day when the Boy will choose him as a playmate, bringing him to life with the transformative power of love. The Nightingale - The Emperor of China hears that one of the most beautiful things in his own land is the song of the nightingale. When the nightingale is brought to him, he is surprised by how little and plain it looks. The bird sings beautifully, but when the Emperor is given a robot nightingale in dazzling colors covered with jewels, he loses interest in the real bird. It is when the Emperor is taken ill that only the song of the true nightingale can heal him.
