The nine articles collected here by two editors from the Special Education Program at Loyola Marymount U., Los Angeles arose from a conference celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975, recently reauthorized and renamed the Individuals for Disabilities Act. The contributors reckon with the sometimes beneficial and sometimes arbitrary or challenging language of the act which brought into a single category different types of disabled students that would have been taught differently in previous years, also addressing current issues in special education instruction.
