Dramatization of the pedophile scandals that rocked the Catholic Church.
Based on the novel by David France, this award-winning mini series takes on the child-abuse scandal that rocked the Catholic Church in 2002. When the Boston Globe outs the cover-up that has long been going on, spearheaded by Cardinal Bernard Law (Plummer), to keep the priests who perpetrated the crimes from punishment and media exposure, everything the Church supposedly stands for comes into question. Courageous lawyer Mitchell Garabedian (Danson) refuses to turn a blind eye, despite the best efforts of the Church to silence him. He is aided by Father Dominic Spagnolia (Dennehy), and the mother of some of the victims, Mary Ryan (Burstyn), provides the prosecutor with chilling details of the case.
