This text/CD-ROM package describes each component of the 2007 NCLEX-RN test plan and provides practice questions specific to each component. Early chapters review the test plan and testing procedures, give information to foreign-educated nurses about obtaining a license to practice in the US, and give tips on study techniques and test strategies. Later chapters focus on the test components and questions. Each question is in two-column format and contains notes on content area, explained answers, test-taking strategies appropriate to that question, and references, all on the same page. The final section of the book contains a 130-page comprehensive test with the same features of the questions in the rest of the book. The CD-ROM contains all 1,810 questions from the book, plus 3,400 additional questions in various formats, including multiple-response, ordered response, and figure and chart questions. Users can choose from three different testing modes on the CD-ROM. Silvestri, who has worked as a nurse, nursing educator, and item writer for the NCLEX, conducts review courses for nursing exams.
