Letterpress Broadsides

Cheloniidae Press and Alan James Robinson along with Charles E. Roberts of Wonder Book Editions are proud to announce the first in a series of  new Letterpress Broadsides, Alan’s first Letterpress Edition in 20 years. "If There Were No Books…"

These broadsides, 28 cm x 35.5 cm, 11” x 14”, are printed by Master Printer Art Larson of Horton Tank Graphics, former Apprentice to our own Harold Patrick McGrath, carrying on the tradition of fine printing, in a total edition of 130. One hundred broadsides sold individually and an additional 30 held in Reserve for this Portfolio, lettered A through Z with four Artist Proofs. All were printed on Archival Cranes Lettra, 300 gms. The concept and quote selections are by Charles E. Roberts of Wonder Book. The twelve letterpress broadsides illustrations and twelve additional drawings were created by Alan James Robinson and printed from relief etchings made from the original drawings. The type and illustrations were printed from polymer plates created by Boxcar Press.

The Concept speculates on the premise "If there were no books…what would we have not experienced..."
