The spine has 5 raised bands with compartments decorated by 5 gilt crosses as well as the gold lettered title found in the 2nd compartment. The boards ornately decorated with gilt borders, floral corner pieces and cross center piece. Gilt inscription to the lower half of the front board. Gilt Edges. Pictorial endpapers with gilt border to the pastedowns. Latin. 574+CLXVIII index. Double colum text with elaborate dropcasing in red and black ink. Color frontispiece and color and b/w illustrations. Printed sheet music and lyrics. Binding copy. Boards and a few accompanying pages detached. Spine has a 2"x2" triangular piece chipped from each left corner. The flaked leather from the lower spine present and laid in. The lower spine also split about 2" above chip. Bands, like the edges, are quite worn, while the corners are frayed. The boards are rubbed and lightly scratched. The front endpapers and blanks separated with front board while in the rear the last page of the index and endpapers are detached with the board. The rear endpapers also are somehow affixed to the board. Leather tabs have been attached to the 8 sheet music pages.
