Catuffe, 1740. Tome Cinquieme Lettres I-L. Heavy Folio. Brown leather with 7 raised spine bands, gilt lettering to two compartments and gilt floral decoration to the remaining 6. Marbled endleaves. Good condition. Edgeworn. Spine tips and corners quite worn with leather peeling away from the lower corners. Joints cracked. Boards rubbed and a bit scratched, with a deep 3" scuff to the left middle rear board. A smaller dime sized raised scuff to the upper rear board. The interior is lightly toned with very little foxing. An inverted bookplate with the printed inscription "From the Library of Reverend John. C. Tennian Presented to Providence College by The Right Reverend Wm. A. Fricken, D.D." to the upper front pastedown. An owner's name twice to the title page.
