On WHITE TRASH WITH MONEY, the Oklahoma native draws from earlier phases of his career, while also heading into less-familiar musical territory. Keith slips into crooner mode (a la 1996's gentle BLUE MOON) on the pleading ""Crash Here Tonight,"" and while he gets political on ""Ain't No Right Way,"" the song, ultimately, proves to be a wistful ballad. ""Get Drunk and Be Somebody"" livens things up with a gleefully raucous vibe buoyed by prominent horn lines, while ""A Little Too Late"" mines an uncharacteristic ""countrypolitan"" vein, as Keith sings over lush orchestral backing. Though the rock-tinged side of the performer's sound is showcased on the energetic ""Grain of Salt"" (which features the witty line ""By now you've observed I was a little over-served last night"") and the straightforward ""Note to Self,"" the set closes with three charming acoustic numbers, topping off what is arguably Keith's most dynamic album.
