New York: The Viking Press, 1941. First US edition. 8vo hardcover. 383pp. Good in good dust jacket. Jacket slightly tattered at spine tips, with several small (less than 1 cm) tears to edges of panels, and minor loss to corners. Jacket lightly toned but colors bright, and faint dampstain (2.5x2.5 in) to front panel and just along top edge of rear flap. Book slightly soiled at hinges and board edges. Numerous small damp speckles across top-edge and foxing to bottom. Endpages lightly toned. Small printing error to page 363/364: 1-inch tear inward from fore edge, penetrating slightly into text, and attached flap of paper protruding a quarter inch beyond fore-edge of text block.
