Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children's paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. During our history, this lack of prejudice has resulted in 25 years of growth and contributed to each and every "overnight success". A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today.

Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost "in the stacks" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as "1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories.

While learning and pursuing the traditions of bookselling and the ancient medium itself we have also embraced new technology and digital innovations. Our Internet business, born in September 1997, is now competing with our three brick and mortar stores (the first of which opened in September 1980). We are shipping books not just to people that could easily reach us by hopping in a car, but also people all over the world. England, Australia, Japan, France, Ireland...everywhere the electric wires of the internet can reach.

The book business today is almost unrecognizable to where it started, but it is the love of books that has kept us going through all of the changes during the past 25 years. There are still books coming through here everyday that we' have never seen before. For a booklover, opening a box to find these treasures can be the most exciting part of the day, but there is also pleasure in simply finding a new home for an old book. We have "recycled" millions of books since 1980. To us, books are not made to be disposed of. They are made to be read, collected and shared.

And we are not just purveyors of "stuffy" old books. We search the United States and Europe for great deals on new "Publisher's Overstocks" books as well. We carry 100,000s of them and pass the savings on to you. We sell books in bulk via our "books by the foot" service supplying interior decorators, hotels, law firms and retail chains across America with inexpensive books chosen by genre, color, and size. And soon we will be offering BRAND NEW books right here on our website too.

The word "Wonder" has a number of different meanings...all of which apply to us. There is magic in the objects we stock for you and each time we match a book with a buyer we consider it a victory.
